FR Dans une maison, une mère se demande si un jour elle aura sa place à elle, une fille s’attache à son coin et à ses petites histoires, et un père construit des châteaux de sable.

NL In een huis vraagt een moeder zich af of ze ooit een plaats voor zichzelf zal hebben, koestert een meisje haar eigen hoekje en haar eigen verhalen, terwijl een vader zandkastelen bouwt.

EN In a house, a mother hopes to have her own place, a girl keeps to her corner and her stories, and a father builds sand castles.

ISABELLE MARTIN

Born and works in Brussels. Filmmaker, video artist, performer, editor, costume designer and visual artist, her works focus on writing and the relation to voice.

LA MONTAGNE ME PARLE

FR Quand le temps était dans le temps. Quand tout ce qu’il y a, était dedans. Au pays, la vieille montagne parle d’elle et du mari, Joha ou Nasreddin.

NL Toen de tijd binnen de tijd was. Toen alles wat er is erin was. In het thuisland vertelt de oude berg over haar en over haar echtgenoot, Joha of Nasreddin.

EN When time was once upon a time. In the country, the old mountain speaks of her and her husband, Joha or Nasreddin.

MARGOT REUMONT

Born in France, studied at la Cambre, lives and works in Brussels. She co-founded the animation studio Tabass.

I COMME IRAN

FR Bruxelles, une salle de classe. A partir d’un manuel datant de la révolution islamique, la réalisatrice apprend à lire et écrire le persan, sa langue maternelle. Progressivement le didactisme des leçons est détourné en un collage poétique et visuel qui met en jeu la notion de liberté et questionne le sens d’une révolution.

NL Brussel, een klas. Uit een handboek dat dateert van de Islamitische revolutie leert de filmmaakster lezen en schrijven in het Perzisch, haar moedertaal. Geleidelijk aan vloeit de didactiek van de lessen over in een poëtische en visuele collage, die met het begrip vrijheid speelt en de zin van een revolutie bevraagt.

EN Brussels, a classroom. The film director learns to read and write Persian, her mother tongue, from a manual dating from the Islamic Revolution. Gradually lessons’ dictatics is diverted into a poetic and visual collage that involves the notion of freedom and questions the meaning of a revolution.

SANAZ AZARI

Born in Isfahan, Sanaz Azari studied stage design at La Cambre. She has worked as a visual artist with installation projects, writing, photography, before making documentary films.

AÏCHA

DÉRIVES ASBL, BE, 2015, 4’, VO FR
FR Une institution de soins pour personnes âgées. Aïcha y passera la dernière partie de sa vie. Le temps est suspendu et la chambre devient une salle d’attente.

NL Een zorginstelling voor ouderen. Aïcha zal er het laatste deel van haar leven doorbrengen. De tijd staat stil en de kamer gaat op een wachtkamer lijken.

EN A care institution for the elderly. Aïcha will spend the last part of her life there. Time is suspended and the room looks like a waiting room.

KARIMA SAÏDI

Belgian-Moroccan, graduated from INSAS and ULB, Karima Saïdi is film editor and script. She began her career as director in 2013 by a series of radio portraits on Moroccan immigration in Belgium. In 2016, she directed “Aisha”, her first short documentary, initiating a feature film currently in preparation.
